About

Hi, My name is Luke Kelly and I am a Limerick based freelance videographer who specialises in capturing live events

My passion for working with cameras began back when I was a transition year student, While attending St Munchin’s College Limerick. I was presented with the opportunity of becoming the schools senior cup cameraman, a role in which I undertook for the full duration of TY, and continued covering a small number of games throughout my leaving cert years.

Upon leaving St Munchin’s College the next chapter of my life began, I was awarded a place in Creative Broadcast and Film production in TUS Midwest (Formerly known as Limerick Institute of Technology). This course would be life changing as learning new software’s and picking up new skills.

When I embarked on my 3rd year of college I was presented with the opportunity to video local GAA club matches in liaison with the TUS Sports office under the supervision of Clare GAA analyst Alan Duggan. While my duties at the beginning were Video the match and present the footage in a timely manner. With time I began to take on more responsibilities such as managing the footage, checking for any coding errors and had a brief stint of analysis.

Upon my 4th year in college I began taking opportunities outside of TUS sports office, while also developing my skills in as many fields as possible. I took on the responsibility of streaming Basketball Irelands Mens division 1 league games where the games were available to watch live on basketball Ireland tv.

While studying in 4th year I began to Freelance more and more, gaining my own clients and building relationships. I started to build a brand around my service. I created a logo and an identity, Lk Sport Filming was born.

I graduated from TUS with an honours degree in Creative Broadcast and Film Production with a 2;1. With my service set up I began researching the equipment needed, I now own an elevated camera system, with the mast towering into the sky giving me the height needed to provide clients with the best possible angle of the game
